Retirees

To obtain an Emeritus/Retired Redbird Card, you must present a photo I.D. at the Redbird Card Office. Card Office staff will verify retiree status through Human Resources.

It takes approximately five minutes to take your photo and print the Redbird Card.

  • Fees

    • The first Redbird Card is free.
    • Redbird Cards that are four years old or older are replaced for free.
    • Broken Redbird Cards are replaced for $5 (cash or check accepted) if the old Redbird Card is returned to the Redbird Card Office.
    • Lost or stolen Redbird Cards less than four years old are $15 (cash or check accepted)

Surviving Spouses

Surviving Spouse or Survivor Redbird Cards are for spouses/domestic partners of deceased Illinois State University retirees. To obtain a Survivor Redbird Card, you must first contact Human Resources. Once Human Resources has approved you for a Redbird Card, present a photo I.D. at the Redbird Card Office in Bone Student Center.

It takes approximately five minutes to take your photo and print the Redbird Card.
